Welcome back for Fall 2010

Hope everyone got their fill of hedonism, lazyness, booming bass, sleepless nights, and memory making events over summer, hope we can keep that buzz alive for you while the mundane routine of school takes over.

So over summer looks like EDC took its final step over the blurry line of mainstream BS and EDM, congrats! (no offense to those who went, but c’mon WILL I AM?), disco and acid kept its grummy little hands on the undergrounds (if you look in the right places) and dubstep, well dubstep kept on steaming ahead. When dubstep meets WILL I AM I’m sure we can count on giant walls of flame surrounding us while satan himself prods our anus’s with his his horny horns. I mean in this no disrespect to dubstep, it’s just the fanaticism behind these two things can create one misinformed group of people! Huge respect goes out to the energy and creativity to the LOW END THEORY scene.

But hey, enough about what the rest of the world is doing! WE ARE HERE TO CREATE SOMETHING OF OUR OWN! Look forward to a NUGGET take over and an OFF CAMPUS event which is 18+, YES IT’S 18+ this year!!! It’s not just reserved for the few of us old enough to go down to 2nd Street :)

Expect some mixes soon!!!

Finally some action

February is the month we are finally in action everyone!  I’m so excited to see it come together, I have to say the reaction I have got from students on campus and from local Long Beach people has been very promising.  So far we have connected with two production crews who have events in Long Beach and who would like to work with us.  Also the music being shared by everyone has really shown the diverse spectrum of EDM and how good our members mixing and production skills are.  Looks like we can really keep this interesting.

Here is the latest update on what is going on…

  • Set meetings are every first Tuesday of the month at 5pm in the USU room 307. (First one to be held Feb 2nd)
  • First event is on Feb. 4th and following events are on the 9th, 11th, and 16th.
  • We will be present at Welcome Week so come by and hang out on Feb 3rd anytime between 11am to 2pm.

Media page is up and running

We have SoundCloud integrated into the site now. I encourage everyone to start sending in your original material. This includes tracks and mixes (of course mixes do not have to be all of your own original music but it has to be mixed by YOU). To send in your music either click on the SoundCloud link in the right sidebar or go to the media page. If you want to comment on people’s tracks and all that other fun stuff sign up to SoundCloud it’s free and there is endless amounts of music to listen to.

As of right now we have two tracks up, so get to it and lets make this grow.

Welcome to the new site!

Finally have a legit site up and running! You can expect plenty more in the future like user mixes, tracks, and postings on events. Thanks goes out to Jameson for helping me get the site going on what seemed to be the rainiest day in years here in California. Lets hope the rain is long gone for the events on the Southwest terrace, so far we have 4 dates lined up with talent mixing live and all hailing from CSULB.

Here is a welcome gift, the first of the CSULB MiniMixes, enjoy!
